GSIS Ginhawa Solar Energy Loan

Government Service Insurance System

Up to ₱500,000 for residential solar installation, at 5% per annum fixed over 60 equal monthly instalments, with no service fee. Three years of panel insurance are included once the installation is completed and proof is submitted. Paperless - the GSIS Touch app only.

  • Active member with permanent status · 3 years of service · current contributions · no default (housing excepted)
  • Install within six months of release to keep the insurance and comply with the loan agreement

Accredited bank salary loan

BPI · Philippine Business Bank · China Bank · Maybank

The realistic route for a privately employed person financing a whole system: up to ₱1,000,000 over 12 to 36 months, released straight to your payroll. Your employer must be accredited - most require two years of profitable operation, centralised payroll and a willingness to remit deductions.

  • BPI lends up to three times monthly income; Maybank up to five times, with no co-maker needed
  • China Bank accepts one year of tenure and approves in 2–3 banking days

SSS Salary Loan

Social Security System

8% per annum over 24 equal monthly amortizations, with a 1% service fee. Needs 36 posted contributions for a one-month loan or 72 for a two-month loan, with 6 posted in the last 12 months. Because the Regular SS salary credit caps at ₱20,000, the maximum loan is ₱40,000 - so treat this as a down payment or partial installation, not a whole system.

  • Apply through My.SSS online
  • Renewal after a penalty condonation carries 10% instead of 8%

Sustainable finance & green facility lines

BPI · Security Bank · PhilGuarantee

CAPEX financing from commercial banks expressly covers construction of renewable energy systems. PhilGuarantee's Sustainable Energy Credit Guarantee covers 50–80% of the principal on renewable and energy-efficiency loans from accredited banks - up to ₱500 million, project financing up to 15 years - which is how a smaller business gets a green loan without full collateral.

  • Renewable projects are assessed against the ASEAN and Philippine Sustainable Finance Taxonomies
  • BSP Circular No. 1227 gives banks an extra 15% single-borrower limit for eligible green projects

LANDBANK REAL Energy Plus

Land Bank of the Philippines

Rooftop solar for own-use generation is an expressly eligible project. Private borrowers advance up to 80% of the total project requirement, electric cooperatives and government agencies up to 90%, and LGUs up to 100%. Term loans run up to 15 years for capital expenditure with a 3-year grace period, and equipment acquisition is financed over the asset's useful life to a maximum of 10 years.

  • Cooperatives are eligible borrowers outright
  • Because it is government-owned, it is often the most patient route for a farm, co-op or small business

Co-op routes: ALERT ARBOs & pooled orders

DA-ACPC with Land Bank, DA, DENR and DAR

ALERT ARBOs lends up to 90% of the total project cost, capped at ₱15 million, at 5% per annum fixed with a maximum 10% pass-on to end-borrowers. It requires CDA or SEC registration, ARBs forming 50+1% of membership, a year of audited financials, a profitable operating record and no outstanding loan on the same project. Separately, pooling member orders reaches Tier-1 pricing and shares one mobilisation fee across the group.

  • Loan purposes cover irrigation pumps, small farm implements and equipment
  • Pooled orders usually cut the per-member cost more than any single discount

Agricultural credit: 3% and NIA solar pumps

DA-LANDBANK FFEDIS · National Irrigation Administration

FFEDIS advances up to 90% of production cost or 80% of fixed-asset acquisition, at 3% per annum fixed for small farmers, fishers and ARBs, and 5% for farmers' and fishers' cooperatives and ARBOs. Loan purposes expressly cover irrigation pumps, dryers, ice plants and cold storage. NIA's EGPIP-SOLAR builds solar pump irrigation for irrigators' associations - and NIA Region VI covers Western Visayas.

  • Your municipal ACPC endorses the project - free of charge
  • EGPIP-SOLAR is an association-level route, not an individual loan

Home equity & Pag-IBIG

Commercial banks · Pag-IBIG Fund

A home equity loan is secured on your title, so banks will usually cover a battery-backed system in full - including the net-metering paperwork - and price it better than an unsecured personal loan. Pag-IBIG's housing loan ceiling rose to ₱10 million in May 2026, payable up to 30 years at 4.5% or 5.75% promotional rates fixed for three years.

  • Pag-IBIG housing loans fund home acquisition - they suit a new build with solar specified from the start
  • The Multi-Purpose Loan covers up to 90% of your savings over 12–36 months

Solar lease or PPA

Third-party investor

The investor owns the equipment, so there is no capital outlay at all and no credit check. You pay for the energy you use, usually below your current tariff, over 10 to 25 years. The trade-off is that you do not own the system - read the escalation and early-termination clauses carefully before you sign.

  • Suits commercial and larger residential systems
  • No credit record impact - useful while you build a file for GSIS or a bank loan
